Unfortunately, you are correct. When I first started buying the Black Scientists & Inventors books starting with book 1 . I had not heard about a single Black inventor, thirteen years late and the complete set in my procession, I now know hundreds.

@6 Kevin you're correct. Those books help reveal these hidden figures. Let's hope the school take this seriously and ensure their school have copies of those 📚 books.
