Great initiative, Ann! I’d add Dr. Mark Dean—co-inventor of the IBM PC. His contributions to computing are foundational yet often overlooked.
I’ve been curating a list of Black scientists and inventors whose stories deserve more visibility in classrooms and media. From Dr. Shirley Jackson to Lonnie Johnson, their impact is profound. Who else should be on this list?

Love this! I’d nominate Katherine Johnson. Her NASA calculations were critical to spaceflight and she’s a true icon.
